SOUND THERAPY

Highly revered for its therapeutic and restorative benefits, Sound Therapy utilises sound and vibration to promote self-restoration by stimulating the body's inherent relaxation response, and assisting in the cessation of mind/body paradox, offering release from mental chatter.

In a session the practitioner plays sound from various overtone emitting instruments on, and surrounding the body. Principles such as resonance and entrainment induce a restful and deep meditative state where the body can re-find balance.

Session duration: 75 minutes

Suitable for: private, couples, families, groups, corporations, cancer patients, end-of-life, ageing, pregnancy, addiction.

Sound is a non-invasive tool that has been scientifically proven to:

  • Boost the immune system

  • Increase feel good endorphins

  • Reduce levels of perceived pain

  • Regulate heart rate, breathing and blood pressure

  • Relieve chronic illness and insomnia

  • Enable shifts in brain wave function

  • Reestablish homeostasis

  • Calm the nervous system

  • Induce deep states of relaxation

  • Assist in chemotherapy treatments

  • Aids in recovery from addiction

  • Relieve stress, anxiety, fear and depression

The practice of using sound to heal has been used by ancient civilizations in Egypt and Greece. The Vedic Scriptures in India, and the Bible make reference to it, as did prominent philosophers Socrates, Plato and Pythagoras, and physicist Nikola Tesla.

Today, sound is still being used for its healing benefits by Native Australian Aborigines, the American Navajo people, Indigenous people of Africa, Shamans in Central and South America, throughout the East, and is very rapidly gaining momentum as a healing modality in the West.
